Light

I had no idea what was coming. They say that life goes by so fast. My mother used to say that she blinked and all of a sudden I was grown up. I never believed her when she spoke of how fast time goes by because, to me, it went by so slow. Yet, in that one moment, I realized how truthful her words really were. I felt the impact of the shot and the bullet as it pierced my skin. In that moment, time stood still and I realized that my life was about to be over. My short life was about to be over. As I feel to the hard concrete ground, my life flashed before me and I saw just how fast it had passed. All I was and all I could be were gone in one moment. And then I saw the light…
