Dogs vs Cats (Opinion Piece)

This is an age old discussion that will never get old. They even made a movie about it! (Cats & Dogs) To honor that discussion, I have decided to write an article comparing that two. Now, as you have see from the title, this is an opinion piece. All the evidence that will be in this article will be based on my experiences and observations of both animals.

Now, we will discuss dogs first since cats are my favorite. I did say that this was an opinion piece, so I am allowed to put my opinion into this article. Dogs are great animals. If you want a pet for security purposes, dogs are great. They bark and growl if they hear or smell something out of the ordinary. They will also attack your attacker if you are in trouble. Dogs are also great if you want an animal that takes up a lot of time. Dogs need to be constantly played with and washed. They must be brushed and taken care of. If you have a huge garden, dogs are perfect. They love wide open spaces. Also, dogs are perfect if you want an animal that is large. Dogs come in many different sizes and shapes. They are also very obedient and can be trained to do basically anything.

Cats are my personal favorites. Cats are not obedient and cannot be trained. They have their own minds and most usually have an attitude. Cats are great if you want an inside pet. They do not need to go outside. You can buy them a litter box or have their claws removed. They also do not need to be washed or brushed. Cats wash themselves and keep themselves tidy. Cats also do not need to be played with as much as dogs do. When they are kittens, they do need to be constantly played with, but as they grow older they usually do not need it anymore. Some cats will always like to play, no matter how old they are. Yet, most like to cuddle and lay with you. Cats are great if you have mice, rats, or snakes. They are great hunters. I personally love cats because they are able to cuddle with you. They love to spend hours in your arms or laying by your side.
