We here on turbulent20 are all about motivation and we want our readers to be too. Yet, I realized something very important. All of our articles have been about staying motivated to reach your goal, yet not one article has been about what to do when you are at the goal and are about to pass that finish line. Depending on what your goal is, you might experience some nervousness. Tomorrow I have an interview that I am super nervous for. I have been motivated so far, but, if I cannot successfully complete the final part because I am so nervous, what good has it been being motivated so far? Now, I am almost 100% sure that I am not the only person who gets nervous. I looked up these great tips to beating my nerves and I thought that it would be a great idea to share it with all of you. I hope that they help you as much as they helped me. Don't forget to comment or submit what you think! Also, if you have other tips that are not mentioned, don't be afraid to let us know. We can't wait to hear from you!

1) Just Breathe!

Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a really deep breath. A sign that you are nervous is

erratic breathing. The best way to get rid of that and to calm your head is to take a deep breath.

2) Happy Place!

If the situation you are in is making you nervous, then imagine that you are not in that situation.

Imagine that you are somewhere that will make you happy and relaxed. Make sure to stay in your

happy place till you are 100% sure that you are feeling better.

3) If you can see it, you can believe it

If your nerves are mostly because you are worried about success, then imagine that you already succeeded. If you can "visualize success," then it will help you calm down and keep you motivated.

4) Motto Time!

If you are feeling nervous, find a motto. It can be a motivational quote, some song lyrics, or anything you want. The entire point of the motto is that it will make you feel less nervous. Just don't forget to repeat it over and over again if you're feeling nervous. It won't work unless you say it over and over again and really ingrain it in your mind.

5) Quiet Place!

A quiet place is a place where you can go where it is just you and your thoughts. While you are in your quiet place, take the time to reassure yourself that you have nothing to be nervous about. Collect your thoughts and then leave there a new and confident version of yourself. If you do not have the option to go to a quiet place, than go to your happy place instead.

6) Grab that pen!

Sometimes, if you feel super nervous and your thoughts are running at a hundred miles per hour inside your head, it's best to just grab a pen and write them down on paper. It will give you a great chance to sort through your thoughts.

7) Escape In The Music

If you are super nervous and feel that you are are psyching yourself out, listen to some music to drone out your thoughts. It might even help you find your happy place! Most will recommend you listen to soothing music, but if you don't like that type of music I don't believe it will help much. You have to listen to music that you love and that you know will make you feel better.

8) Drink Some Water!

Drinking water is a great way to calm down, but you have to be careful not to drink too much. For some, being nervous makes them have to pee really bad and drinking a lot water will not help.

9) Massage Time!

Though a full body massage is amazing, I'm talking about just messaging your temples. To do this all you have to do this close your eyes and use your middle finger to massage that area on the side of your eyes, which is known as your temples. This is also a great way to help a headache.

10) Work Out Time!

Though this is not something that helps me relax, working out can be a very helpful method of relaxation for you. If your goal is relaxation, the best type of exercise would be yoga or tai chi. Yet, any type of exercise will work.

11) Nighty Night!

You might be overly nervous because you did not get enough sleep. Make sure that you get your recommended eight hours of sleep before any huge event.

12) Be Rational!

When you are nervous, it is your feelings that are controlling you. It can help if you put aside those feelings and focus on logic. If you are in a situation where it is out of your control, make sure to accept that. You cannot control everything. If you feel that you made mistakes or that you could have done better, remind yourself that you cannot change the past and that you have to focus on the future. If you know that certain situations make you nervous, try being in those situations more often. Eventually, you will become more comfortable in those situations and your nerves should decrease. If you are nervous because of another person, you can try the good old image them in their underwear trick. Think of them in any situation that is more uncomfortable than the one that you are in. Also, remind yourself that not everything will always work out. There will be times where you will not have the outcome that you expected or wanted. You have to accept that and remember that it is always a possibility.

13) Know What Makes You Nervous!

How can you possibly hope to cure your nerves if you do not know what caused them? Before you try any of these tips, you should make sure that you know what exactly is making you nervous.

14) It's Not Just You!

You are not the only person who gets nervous! I get nervous, your friends get nervous, and probably over half of the people who you know get nervous. It is natural and is not something that you should feel embarrassed about.
