To all of my marvel fans reading this, I am definetely sure that you know who Thor is. You will love this work of art by Martes Winge because it is all about Thor, though you probably won't find the Thor in this painting more attractive than the one actor who plays him in real life. This painting depicts Thor fighting against the Jotunes, which are also known as giants. From the painting, you can see that thunder is his constant companion in this fight. Also, you can see that thor has his hammer and is wearing the Girdle of Strength around his waist.
Martes Winge made a beautiful work of art. The fact that it lacks color is even more impressive. You can see and feel what Thor is feeling at that very moment by just looking at his face. His anger and his determination is clear. You can see the faces on his enemies as they are being defeated. When I look at this picture it is as if I am in the fight myself. The details in this work of art is amazing. You can see the detailed engraving of Thor's Girdle of Strength, the definition of the men's muscle, and the smoke. I love the fact that Winge does not include color. In some cases, the color enhances the painting, yet, for this painting, it is not necessary. I also love that he does not put that many details in the sky and the ground. It makes it easier to focus on Thor and the giants. Please submit or comment your opinions on this piece.
